Festival Director Claas Danielsen introduces further changes: "DOK Leipzig" is the new name and the dove logo, which continues to be the symbol of the festival, receives a "full-body makeover".
There is finally a fixed festival centre again, in the new Museum of Visual Arts building, and DOK Leipzig is extended to include further segments: With the DOK Market, the DOK Summits and the international co-productions meeting the DOK Festival is joined by DOK Industry. With over 1,000 accredited guests from 35 countries, there are 25% more trade visitors than the previous year.
The retrospective of the Federal Archive/Film Archive Berlin this year is dedicated to the political documentary films of the 20th century ("Red films are easier spotted - The political documentary film in Germany 1980-2005").
