José Luandino Viera, author and Head of Television in the People's Republic of Angola, receives an unused film and camera after a donation campaign. The special prize of the jury goes to Patricio Guzmán's "Schlacht um Chile, Teil II - Der Staatstreich" (Chile).
The research of the State Film Archive for the retrospective "Documentary film in Japan" took four years to complete. The results, shown in 1976, include missing films from the 1930s.
